The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) recognizes the importance of using technology to provide information and services to carry out our mission. As such, RCO is committed to ensuring our Web sites, documents, and application systems are accessible to the public and Washington State employees, including individuals with disabilities

Guidelines and Standards

RCO strives to meet the Washington State Office of the Chief Information Officer Policy 188 Accessibility, 188.10 Minimum Accessibility Standards, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level AA compliance, including the following guidelines associated with these principles:

  • Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
  • Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable.
  • Understandable: Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable.
  • Robust: Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assisitive technologies.

Need Help or Want to Report an Accessibility Issue?

Please contact the RCO accessibility coordinator with information on Web sites, documents, or application systems that are not fully accessible to you, along with the type of accommodation that you need. The accessibility coordinator will review your accessibility request, contact the responsible agency staff, determine how to best meet your accessibility request, and respond to you within 5 business days with the access or information that you need, and the plan to improve accessibility in the future.
